


Battle at Byrd is one of the premier high school cheerleading competitions in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Hosted by the William Byrd High School Cheerleading Team and Booster Club in beautiful Vinton, Virginia, this annual invitational brings together talented teams from across the region for a day of spirited competition, sportsmanship, and community.
Spectators and participants can look forward to an exciting atmosphere featuring outstanding team performances, a professional DJ, delicious food vendors, custom event merchandise, and much more. Whether you're a cheerleader, coach, family member, or fan, Battle at Byrd offers an unforgettable experience celebrating the energy, dedication, and tradition of high school cheerleading.

Each year, a portion of the proceeds is donated to a local charity, helping us give back to the community. This year we are supporting Special Olympics Virginia - Area 8, which serves more than 100 athletes with intellectual disabilities across Botetourt, Craig, Franklin, Roanoke and Salem.

Admission is $10 for the day. Children 5 and under are free.
Yes, a vendor will be on-site selling custom T-shirts and hoodies. There will also be a concession stand and food vendors where visitors may purchase food and beverages. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR BEVERAGES ALLOWED.
Routines must follow VHSL/NFHS guidelines.
Middle School: Time limits: No more than 3:00 minutes
High School: Must follow VHSL/NFHS guidelines. Routines must be at least 2:30 in length but no longer than 3:00 minutes with no more than 1:45 seconds of music.
